To fully leverage the benefits from health information technology requires it to be effectively integrated into the network of information systems of which it is part and usefully incorporated into the physical design of the hospital, clinic or home in which it is used.

This group brings together architects, designers, engineers, information technologist, clinicians and patients to address the question of how to design the systems and physical structures which make up our healthcare system.

Health Information Privacy and Security

HISA's Health Information Privacy and Security group (HIPS) looks at the issues of privacy and security in the area of health information.  It holds seminars, conducts surveys and develops position papers for government consideration.

The Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA) is a scentific society with the mission of improving healthcare through health informatics. HISA provides a national focus for health informatics, its practitioners, industry and users, it advocates on behalf of its members and provides opportunities for learning and professional development in health informatics.

Australian Healthcare & Hospitals Association

The Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association is “the voice of public healthcare.” AHHA's policy development programme and events address the unique needs of members across the broad continuum of healthcare services, including area, regional and district health services, hospitals, community and primary health centres, aged and extended care facilities.

HealthBeyond

Organization

HealthBeyond is a consumer e-health group with discussions covering areas such as online interactive therapy, online information, health gaming, personal health records, exercise systems and home monitoring.  Most importantly, it looks at how all these systems are beginning to interact to deliver new and innovative health management options.
