Amanda graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from the University of Queensland. Amanda is a registered member of Speech Pathology Australia and a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist. Amanda is passionate about engaging clients and their families in evidence-based interventions to support a child’s communication development across speech, language and literacy. Amanda is an advocate for the importance of a holistic and collaborative approach to meeting your child’s needs in communication development.

Amanda has worked in both private practice as well as the with the Department of Education and Training. Working in an educational setting has provided her extensive knowledge and understanding of students and their participation within the classroom environment. Amanda is passionate about the development of oral language and early literacy development and enjoys incorporating play-based learning within intervention. She has experience working in school environments as an Administration Officer and Teacher aide while completing her tertiary studies. Amanda has lived overseas in South Korea, supporting the expatriate community and providing intervention to families with English as a Second Language.

She is continuing her studies in Masters of Education to support her understanding of pedagogy, curriculum and learning support for the early years and school aged child.

Amanda is a Mum to young boys and loves spending her days exploring, investigating and running after them both. Amanda was able to combine her passion for promoting language and literacy development through shared reading by judging the 2018 Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year awards for Children 8 – 10 years and can recommend excellent Children’s Picture Books. She can whip up a new batch of playdough in less than 10 minutes.
