Liz Anderson received her Bachelor of Psychological Science from the University of Queensland and her Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology from Queensland University of Technology. She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Australian Association of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Liz’s special interests are working on assessing learning difficulties and developmental disorders.

Liz has recently returned from an internship in Philadelphia and is currently working on state of the art intervention for developmental and learning disorders.

Liz works with assisting Paediatricians with their diagnoses by preparing comprehensive assessment reports on all Developmental Disorder including:

  • Autism Diagnostic Assessments (Including the ADOS)
  • ADHD / ADD Diagnostic Assessments
  • Sensory Processing Disorder
  • Nonverbal Learning Disorder
  • Giftedness
  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder /Conduct Disorder
  • Sleep Problems
  • Intellectual Impairment
  • Toileting Problems

As an Educational and Developmental Psychologist she is specifically trained in assessing Learning Disorders including:

  • Reading Disorders (Dyslexia)
  • Disorder of Written Expression (Dysgraphia)
  • Maths Disorder (Dyscalculia)
  • School readiness / Repeating

Liz runs individual and group sessions that focuses on the necessary skills required to be academically competent, including:

  • Breaking down a criteria sheet
  • Goal setting
  • Time management
  • Study skills
  • Working smarter not harder
  • Memory techniques
  • Summary notes
  • Organisation and planning skills

Liz has extensive experience in career guidance and works well with helping young people find direction in traineeships and apprenticeships.

Outside of work, Liz enjoys spending time with her husband and her son, Henry. She also loves being with her two Corgi’s, Basil and Jack.
