At The Health Hub, high importance is placed on working with children and their families to provide a well rounded approach to therapy. Therapy focuses on building resiliency within the individual and the family unit.
The Health Hub offers a friendly, warm, fun environment where children learn to regulate their emotions, express their thoughts and feeling with their families and work towards joint outcomes.
Although children and adolescents are seen individually in session, therapists actively encourage parent involvement, particularly in learning ways to support the child’s skill development. Skill training is an essential part of helping children, so that parents feel equipped with the skills necessary to support the strategies being taught in session.
As children spend the majority of their life between home and school, our therapists believe that coaching parents and teachers in the strategies can also further support a child’s skill development. Where appropriate, and with parent and child permission, therapists may work with teachers and other support staff on strategies to support the child.
